Hunger Games Inspired: Peeta

Next up is Peeta :)

I really struggled with a look for Peeta. They don't really talk about his clothes in the books and there wasn't much to take inspiration from on a superficial level. I thought about his character and personality and tried again. Katniss is "the girl on fire" and as he's her lover (on screen anyway), he has a bit of fire in him too. You see it later on in the series (I don't want to spoiler anyone). Thus, I wanted a look that incorporated fire without being obvious... a 'hidden' fire, so to speak. I used red eyeshadow mixed with brown to keep it more neutral and easy to wear. The orange/reds I used shimmer as the light shifts, sort of looking like fire (see bottom photo)... this is so much prettier in person!

Glamourous Fire Love

Hahaha, I had to do the title. I am so lame when it comes to titles.

So I washed my hair this morning and did what my hair stylist told me to do with my bangs... holy fringe, Batman! My hair puffed up like an angry puffer fish. For real. My bangs are huge.

As another side note, I'll be going on vacation in a few weeks (about 2) so I won't be posting here. The lovely MusicalHouses from Of Faces and Fingers will be guest posting while I'm gone, and I'll try and schedule a few posts ahead of time so that no one cries or anything. I'm sorry! I've got a boyfriend moving over here for me to spend loads of time with! :-x

LOTDs: Last Call for Ammo

Yep. I used the Urban Decay Ammo palette for 4 days solid. I am going to go insane tomorrow for the Paramore concert and rock some crazy bright makeup. I love my Ammo palette, but I gotta break out man!

There you go! I really enjoyed doing this challenge. I liked the variety of looks I got -- I think my favorite is the Mildew look, I actually really liked my Thursday (today) look... very natural.

I also went after work to get my Dare to Wear goodies (separate post later) and had a girl I know there redo my eyebrows. I really like them! I just have to practice and get them right! What do you guys think?

























Excuse the worn off makeup -- it's been humid as hell here and we're under a tornado/flood watch atm. Running into the mall killed my makeup. Well, the sweat didn't help. Anyway! She extended the tail of my eyebrow and changed the inner corners, I really like it:

Quick Gold FOTD

Yeah... so funny story about this. I was using a glitter liner to top this off, and my smart self blinked in the middle of applying, and the applicator went directly into my eye. I should have taken a photo -- I had glitter eyeballs. So that explains the remnants in the corners of my eyes!

I'm not that pleased with this one -- I need to be able to have more time to plan out my colors in the mornings. Had I had more time, I probably would have put down a gold eyeliner base to make the gold stand out more as gold HATES ME.

Do you guys like the new layout? The bf made the banner. The little turtle on the right wasn't supposed to be cut off, but Blogger did that to it and I think it's kinda cute :3 Anyway!

I was in a discussion with talkingtrash / Pigments and Pearls (she's got a blog, clicky!) about Beautiful Iris, Trax and GlamourCheck! all together. I decided to re-do the look this morning with some small changes.

I don't know... it needs something. I wish I had put my Collection 2000 purple glitter liner over top. Maybe that's what it's missing.

Lipstick Collection Swatches and... new hair!

I did my 100th post and didn't even notice. Well, happy 101st (hahahahaha, I typed "th" on the end of that at first) post to me!

I decided to swatch my small lipstick collection, as I wanted to see what I'm lacking in terms of color and finish, and also because I know you people love makeup porn, you dirty, dirty girls.

I just realized I didn't include my Morgana Minerals samples, or the 1 Clinique lipstick I have. D'oh.

It has SO much more shape and movement now. I love it! Gotta get used to the short bangs. I think she intentionally cut them that short so that I would be prepared for when I do my fringe in the fall :)

I don't get the foiled liner thing. I tried using Petrol Black and it was just... black. lol

I intended for this to look like one color, but subtly have the other colors blending the graffiti out.

Beachy Look

I picked up a new lipstick from CVS last night and wanted to use it.
Seriously, this lipstick is love. I think it's everything I wanted Vegas Volt from Mac to be. I liked VV, but indoors it was so pastel and with my skintone, it made me look sickly. The Milani lipstick is similar in color but not as pastel, and has a beautiful gold sheen that is just gorgeous for the summer.

Two more things: Let me just say that I hate my cheeks in this look. Blecht!
Second, I tried out a new mascara. It's pretty fail. I may return it.

Oh, and third... please excuse the rank eyebrows. I'm due to do something to them... again... I think I'm gonna go hunting for clear brow gel/mascara and do a major replucking tonight. I seriously cannot stand them.
