"You know that I love you boy, hot like Mexico, rejoice..."
Sorry, listening to Lady Gaga.
Anyway! Today will be a quick overview/review of Sinful's nail colors. I've seen them at Walgreens and Target so far, and they usually retail for $1.99. Also, they go on sale for buy one, get one free quite often. I only have three colors at the moment: Frenzy, Nail Junkie and Show Me the Way. Please excuse the stock photos, my camera is on the fritz at the moment.
Frenzy is a gorgeous color of purple, dark blue, medium blue, and fuschia glitter. It has a clear base and does not really have a jellylike consistency. This is my favorite of the bunch: I did a cute mani the other day with just using this on the tips of my nails. Got a lot of compliments.
Nail Junkie is an absolutely stunning color. It's a teal/aqua jelly base with a load of what appears to be gold glitter, but upon closer inspection, it's actually multi colored (almost rainbow) and varying sizes of chunky glitter. I love this color! (Currently my mani color). It really is one of those statement colors.
Show Me the Way is the last color I have. I got this because I have no other greens like it... it's a semi metallic, glowing "pea soup" green. I didn't know if this would flatter my skin tone, but once I applied it, I loved it and got a lot of compliments. Definitely go for this if you want something different.
Now, to discuss the polishes overall. I love all 3 of these colors. First off, the formula is decent. The brush is a good size and I can coat my small nails in 2-3 slow swipes. I like that they are slightly angled, but I do find that they are sometimes hard to get into the sides of your nails without hitting skin (which is bad when you're doing glitter... it doesn't come off!).
My main issue with these is the dry time. I had no issues with Frenzy, I did my tips and by the time I was done painting all 5 fingers, the first finger was ready for a second coat. However, SMTW and Nail Junkie were AWFUL. I tried doing SMTW in a bit of a hurry and it looked awful. Even with my Seche Vite top coat (which dries super fast), those were still completely jelly and tacky over 5 minutes later. I know I am impatient with my nails, but when you're letting each coat dry for 2-3 minutes and the top layer is complete jelly? Not acceptable. However, for $1.99, they're pretty awesome. Professional? Not so much. Nail Junkie is stunning, but after I spent over 30 minutes last night trying to get my nails right (my left thumb and ring finger just were not drying), I can't see myself reaching for it all the time. Definitely fun to play with though!

Monthly Favorites: Volume 1
Every other makeup person is doing it. So. Yeah.
- Gelous Advanced Nail Gel Coat (it's a base coat). I got this from Sally for $5.99, I believe. It's really good! It definitely prevents staining and I've noticed when combined with my Seche Vite topcoat, the nail polish can be peeled off in one chunk.
- Bath and Body works Sweet Cinnamon Pumpkin body spray. Yes, I know. I'm a whore for this shit.
- Victoria's Secret shimmer lotion in Love Spell. Oh my god is all that needs to be said.
- E.L.F. professional bronzing brush. I looked on their website for this and it's not the same one I have, mine is from Target and is black. I love this thing, seriously. It's amazing for blush and it was only $1!
- Rimmel blush in Pink Rose. Very pretty and sheer. Perfect for me... too bad it's discontinued.
- L'Oreal Voluminous mascara in Black Brown. I'm impressed with this mascara! It gives nice volume and length with minimal clumping on multiple coats.
- CoverGirl TruShine lipstick in Plum Shine. Gorgeous color, especially with Mac's dazzleglass in Funtabulous over top.
- Revlon matte eyeliner in #04, Pure White. Decent for the waterline.
- The Body Shop Aloe Soothing Day/Night Cream. Just switched to this from my clean and clear moisturizer and I love it. It's cleared up the redness in my skin like crazy. My bottle is a bit old so I don't get the soothing effect, but I will definitely rebuy.
- China Glaze nail polish in Harmony. Gorgeous purple/silver metallic. Great staying power as well, think I wore it for 4 days with no chipping.

Taylor Swift: Fifteen MV Look
Copyright stuff: I do not own any of the Taylor Swift photos... I print screened them off of universalmusicgroup's channel from her video.
General Disclaimer: I purchased all of the products mentioned myself and am not being endorsed by any company or corporation to list said products.
Here is the look I am doing today:
PRODUCTS:
Face:
- Mac Studio Fix Powder in NC25
- Mac Select Moisturecover concealer in NW20
- NYX Loose Powder in Translucent
- Mac MSF in Gold Deposit
- Mac blush in Prism
- Mac e/s in Sushi Flower (as blush)
Eyes:
- Mac e/s in Folie (brows)
- Mac shadestick in Beige-ing (above top lash line)
- Mac e/s in Texture (very very very lightly in crease, bottom lash line)
- Mac e/s in White Frost (above top lashes with a tiny brush, inner corner)
- Sephora waterproof liner in Deep Black (smudged on top and bottom)
- Revlon matte e/s in Vintage Lace (brow)
- Little bit of the foundation just under the smudged liner
- Maybelline Lash Stiletto mascara in Very Black
Lips:
- CoverGirl TruShine lipstick in Fire Shine (blotted afterwards)
- Mac marbelized lipglass in Nice Mix Up (lightly over lips)
- Sephora gloss in Rosy Glow
Tips:
- I did the best I could with the lipstick. It's more orange at some points in the video and more coral in others. I sort of did in the middle.
- Bring the eyeliner out in a slight wing
- False lashes are preferable to the zillion coats of mascara I used. I just dont have any at the moment.
And here it is! I think it came out pretty well.

Request: Carrie Underwood Play On look
Here is the look I am trying to duplicate today (you can click and make it bigger):
Here are the products I used:
FACE:
- Mac Studio Fix powder in NC25
- Mac Select Moisturecover concealer in NW20 (pretty much all over face)
- NYC Smooth Skin face powder in Translucent (all over, she has really light skin)
- Rimmel blush in Pink Rose
EYES:
- Mac e/s in Lucky Tom (upper crease, very heavily blended)
- Urdan Decay e/s in Smog (inner crease, again heavily blended)
- Revlon e/s in Vintage Lace (brow and inner corner highlight)
- Rimmel smokey noir quad, the black color (all over eyelid and lower lash line)
- Wet 'n Wild Island Blues trio, the dark blue (under smudged black liner on lower lash line)
- Sephora waterproof liner in Deep Black (smudged on top and bottom)
- L'Oreal Voluminous mascara in Brown Black
LIPS:
- Merle Norman gloss in Sweetness
Notes:
- You should use a matte taupe/brown for the inner lid color, I didn't have a matte one so the sparkle comes through and I didn't want it to. I did everything I could to matte it out but as you can see, it's still sparkly! Mac has a few colors that would work great.
- Don't use the gloss I used... it tastes awful! Luckily it's just a sample.

I stole the base idea from MakeupGeek (Marlena) and just used different products.

I ended up changing it after I took the pics and just went with Mac's dazzleglass in Funtabulous. The hot pink was good for photos but just wasn't wearable. I just used a cheapie 99 cent Wet 'n Wild lipstick.

LOTD: Smokey Teal
Okay... okay... I lied. This isn't my look of TODAY. But it was a look of mine that I'm posting here instead of just on Facebook. I loved this one :)
I did a muted version of this during the day. Just use a clear gloss with some gold shimmer and don't use the dark brown in the crease, instead just use the lighter.
FACE:
- NARS makeup primer (it's a sample, seems to work pretty well but man is it expensive)
- Mac Select Moisturecover concealer in NW20
- Mac Studio Fix powder foundation in NC25
- Bit of translucent powder
EYES:
- Clinique All About Eyes cream (under eyes)
- Too Faced Shadow Insurance
- Sephora Eye Brightener pencil
- Mac e/s in Shimmermoss (all over lid and in the bottom inner corner)
- Mac e/s in Amber Lights (crease and into inner corner, also under eye in center)
- Mac e/s in Folie (on brows, mixed with Lucky Tom in crease)
- Mac e/s in Lucky Tom (from Hello Kitty palette... same as above)
- Sephora e/s in Pearl #8 (I really wish they'd name these... brow highlight and inner corner highlight)
- Sephora mini eyeliner in Glitter Brown (top and bottom in waterline)
- Ulta eyeliner in Golden Eyes (bottom waterline)
- Maybelline Colossal mascara in Classic Brown
CHEEKS:
- Mac blush in Prism
- Mac mineralize s/f in Gold Deposit (only just above the blush)
LIPS:
- The Body Shop lipstick #11/Plum (I would more recommend a lipstick like Twig from Mac or any nude pinky brown... I need to get one)
- Mac dazzleglass in Get Rich Quick (GORGEOUS)
Quick tips:
- Don't use 2 coats of the mascara I used. I knew about this and had forgotten, man does it flake horribly.
- For the darkening of the crease, use a small shader brush (example: sephora's small shader #23) and mix the two colors together, then create a V in your outer crease, blend, but don't blend too heavy. It may take a few layers to get it dark enough. Bring the color down into your lower lashline as well.
- Pairing this with a teal nail polish = hot

Item Name: Stella
Price: Roll-On (.33 oz) - $17, 1 oz - $48, 1.6 oz - $70, 3.3 oz - $89
Where to buy: Pretty much any perfume counter, I got my roll on at Sephora
First off, let me say that I wish the internet had smell-o-vision. This perfume is seriously amazing. There are barely words to describe how awesome this scent is and I'm going to try to blog about it. I will start by saying that I know little about perfume. I don't really keep up with it as I'm very picky about what I wear in terms of scent. I'm a Bath and Body Works $12 body spray sort of girl. My dad bought me a bottle of Dior's Addict when I was 17 and all my girl friends were ooh'ing and aah'ing and I was like... it smells nice. Really, I was.
I was in Sephora with my friend Amanda and she suggested this perfume (it was at the little endcap aisles in front of the registers... damn you Sephora). I normally don't agree with her on scents so I tried it half expecting to hate it, and I loved it. It is a perfect blend between feminine (which I equate to floralish old lady scents) and sexy (Sensual Amber... omg). I love the way it smells on me. Bear in mind that perfumes smell different on everyone so you may want to give this a shot in the store, and then walk around for an hour or so with it on. I've had scents that have literally changed on me a few hours in and smelled awful (can anyone say Moonlight Path).
According to Sephora, Stella has notes of rose, peony, mandarin, rose absolute and amber. I think it's the amber that does it for me personally. It also lists Dior J'Adore (which I hate) Ralph by Ralph Lauren as similar scents. I can't say that I agree, but anyway.
Overall, for $17, the roll on was definately worth it. I think the only downside I can find is that the scent doesn't last as long as I'd want it to. I think it may be that it's a roll on, but I like to still know I have perfume on 5-6 hours after I apply it, and this one I would notice completely disappeared after 3 or 4.
As a final note before pictures, Sephora is running a special on this with purchase of the 3.3 oz bottle, you will get a stella charm bracelet at checkout. I dunno if this is any good, but if you're interested... lol.
