Mascara review: Maybelline Lash Stiletto

Pretty simple. I don't think it needs more words than the pictures. This is the best mascara I've ever found and I know SO many people that dislike it... but here's what it does for MY lashes...

Naked lashes.

Excuse the mascara dribble on the side of my eye. Geez... macro makes everything look terrible. The results are pretty fantastic on me. I have no problems with this mascara, it does flake a little after 10-12 hours and/or sleeping, which is not really a surprise.

It retails anywhere from $6-$9 at local drugstores and Ulta, and Maybelline regularly goes on Buy One, Get One Free and Buy 1, Get One 50% off.

On second look, I should have done some side and closed eye shots. My lashes are very thin and dark without mascara, so...

Best $2 Nail Polish EVER

Items used:
- Gelous base coat
- 2 coats of Rimmel Black Satin
- 2 coats of Sinful Green Ocean
- 1 (thick) coat of Seche Vite

This is on my mom... she has such lovely, long fingernails that I thought it would be good on her. Her poor hands are dry from slaving away at the sink :(

This polish is sick. Seriously. I may sell all of my other polishes and keep a black, purple, and this to put over top of them. ALL THE TIME.

Last two were taken indoors, and the last one was blurred to show the glitteryness.

This polish is amazing... and only $1.99! Available at Walgreens. It was a bit hard to find as my local Walgreens' staff is lazy and it was on a tiny stand labeled "St. Patrick's Day" with a hideous solid green polish. This thing needs to be in a huge gold display saying "BUY ME NOW"

I also think Sinfuls are available at Rite Aid, but whether they have this color, I honestly don't know. Good luck finding it! It's worth the hunt. This is over black but I have it over Sinful's Let's Talk and it's pretty too.

China Glaze: Nova (aka ZOMGGlitterbomb)

I am in love.

(and with more than my fantastic English boyfriend)

Check it:

(Blurred for maximum glitterness)

Holy crap. This is fantastic. I can't wait to see this in the sunlight. It look 3 strong coats to get even coverage, and I did a spot 4th just to fill in gaps. It was reduced to $3.99 at Sally's! I am upset that I missed the rest of this collection.

Side note, I do think this would be best over black or a silver polish. Gonna try that after this begins to wear.

Go find this on eBay or at your local Sally's. Or somewhere else. Seriously. Like now.

And just for good measure, a video of awesome:

So, no new hair for Wendy tonight :( Sadness.
Apparently, when they scheduled my appointment, the scheduler didn't account for the fact that my color girl was off work 1 1/2 hours after my appointment time. She needed at least 2 - 2 1/2 hours to do what I wanted. So I go back Saturday... :( :(

OPI Alice in Wonderland Review

Before I post these photos, please excuse the state of my hands... the macro function makes them look terrible! It also made it look like a 2 year old painted them, wtf? Finally, it's snowy here (as you can see) and lack of sunlight made for not so good photos.
My manicure today is Absolutely Alice, which I absolutely adore XD

This polish is insane! It shimmers like crazy even in low lighting. I can't wait to see this when the sun comes out. The application was pretty easy, I think that my only complaint is the brush. I have the mini set so I think they downsized the brushes. As you can see, I have small fingernails and I still had to dip in 3 times to get each nail done. This one dried insanely fast, so I had some blotchy, patching problems because of the time it took to dip in and apply another stroke. Like I said, this is probably because I got the mini set. Definitely needs a top coat though as the glitter is pretty gritty.

I love the other 3 colors, mostly. Mad as a Hatter was amazing when I swatched it yesterday. I think I will do a light purple mani with this polish on the tips later this week. I wasn't so impressed by Thanks so Muchness! and Off With Her Red! when I saw them online, but in person they are better. I figured that if the full sizes are $8.50, and I want two, I may as well get the set as it's only $12.50 and I'll never use the full sizes all the way. So, we will see how they fare later in the week.

As for the overall collection, I think it's pretty good. I'm a little disappointed in the two reds. I'm no marketing specialist, but here's my unskilled opinion: I think that they should have dropped Thanks So Muchness! (the shimmery red) and changed Off With her Red! to a similar color to TSM. OWHR is very orange... it's supposed to be like the Queen of Hearts, right? Instead, it's a little Queen of Tomatoes. Nice color, but strange comparison.
Second, I think they should have added 1-2 other colors. Personally, I think something inspired by the Cheshire Cat and the White Rabbit would have been awesome. They could have done some kind of white jelly with multi shimmer, and a purpley pink of some kind for Cheshire. That's just me.
Last, I think OPI could have done something with nail art for this. Little mushrooms? Yes! How cute would that have been? What about a little tag that says Drink Me? Or little pansies. Little kitty paws... the options are endless! Just a thought.

As a whole, I think the collection is neat. It's inventive, interesting colors... and the mini set is only $12.50. It's a great deal. I will give it a solid B+ :-)
