FOTD/OOTD/NOTD: Deja Vu

I haven't been doing much in the way of interesting makeup lately. Well, it's interesting to me, but not worth blogging about. Does anyone else have that weird tendency? As in, it comes out pretty but is it worth putting on the blog? Hmmm...

I pulled out my Sleek Circus palette thanks to looks from Azure and Phlox at Eye Graffiti and Robyn as well. They were using bits from the palette and coming up with fantastic looks. I opened the palette and was immediately drawn to green and purple for today. I went to edit the pics and realized that this FOTD is grotesquely similar to one I did in September (here). I actually prefer today's version, but hopefully you don't hate me too much for doing the same thing!

FACE:
- Missha Perfect Cover BB Cream in #21
- Mac MSF Natural in Light Medium
- Maybelline Dream Mousse Concealer in Light
- Mac MSF in Semi Precious Crystal Pink

EYES:
- Too Faced Shadow Insurance
- NYX Jumbo Pencil in Milk
- Sleek Circus Palette: Matte white (inner corner), shimmery green (crease), matte lilac (lid), shimmering plum (outer crease)
- Wet n Wild Vanity Palette: pale gold (inner corner)
- Prestige Total Intensity eyeliner in Fierce Blue (lower waterline)
- Physician's Formula cream eyeliner set for blue eyes (black with blue sparks on the upper lashline)
- Rimmel Sexy Curves mascara (Black)

LIPS:
- Clinique Lipstick in Silvery Moon

For my OOTD, it's the day before Thanksgiving here and I will likely be let out early, so I wore something casual to work (yes, it's Pikachu):

Blazer: Candie's brand, from Kohl's
T-Shirt: Kohl's
Dress Pants: New York & Company
Shoes: Rack Room? Not sure

Lastly, my nails, which I painted yesterday. Macro makes everything look terrible, but what can you do? The base polish is 'Jade' from Forever21 (I put that in quotes because there's a ton of their polishes named Jade) with China Glaze Snow Globe over top. I really love this combo but the F21 polish was taking FOREVER to dry, so much so that 4 hours after I painted it, I managed to smudge an entire nail off! (You can see where some of the tips smudged in the picture, boo.)

Quick FOTD w/ Circus Palette

Arrrgh, no closeups of this one too! On this one though, my camera was color correcting the hell out of the yellow on the inner bits of my eye. I have used yellow all over my lid and never had a problem, but it DOES NOT like me putting it there at all. So, in the faraway shots you can see the yellow trailing down into my undereyes and well... it wasn't there ><. This is frustrating. I have an amazing camera and it hates me some days.

Also, some of the pics were taken at the end of the day, so you can see my foundation has worn.

This was using both the light and dark purples, and the matte fuschia... also the matte yellow.

Cringing at the last shot -- it makes the yellow look AWFUL and it looked nothing like that!! :(

Sleek Circus Palette: Review and Swatches

Sorry to bombard you guys with posts, but I'm trying to get this stuff done while it's on my mind!

I got my Sleek Circus palette from Robyn on Wednesday and was excited to get swatching!

Their shades are unnamed -- I swatched them top row first, then second row.
Top, starting at far left is a matte pinkish red, a mid toned grape purple, a matte pale pink, a matte white, a butter yellow and a matte fuschia.
Bottom is a standard matte black, pale matte lilac, shimmering chartreuse, matte aqua blue, sparkling dark blue, and a matte orange

The order is pretty self explanatory.

Overall, I like the palette but I will admit that I think a lot of these colors will take some work. I think Sleek aimed at braver girls when creating this palette, and mattes are typically hard to work with. I will admit that these mattes are better than what I've swatched in the past. I think they will work best over a white base, as in the Acid palette. This palette leans towards pink and purple shades -- so for those who don't care for them, this palette is definitely not recommended. But honestly, for 6 quid, who can pass it up? Sleek makes great, affordable palettes. I look forward to some FOTDs with this!

EDIT: omg, I did my FOTD today with this palette after swatching... (faints). I am in love. The mattes were a bit hard to work with but the end result is AMAZING. Changing the grade to A-. I will post pics in a separate post.

Grade: A- (edited from B+)
