Mac Love Week: FOTD #5 (Ever Hip)

This FOTD is sorta lame, but per my husband's usual instructions, I'm posting it anyway. It's quite pretty in person but something just doesn't translate into photos. There's some pretty iridescent glitter on my lids and on my tear ducts, but you can really see it except for in the non-flash photo at the bottom. It also appears in photos like my eyeshadows have creased, which they haven't!

Mac Love Week: FOTD #4 (I'm Vexed)

Sorry for not getting any 'love week' posts up over the weekend -- I did use Mac stuff but on Saturday, I had about 15 minutes to toss eyeshadow on before dinner guests arrived and didn't have time to photo the look (it was bad anyway), and on Sunday I wasn't pleased with the combination I used.

To explain, I pulled out Vex, an eyeshadow that I got for Christmas and hadn't figured out yet how to use. I applied Too Faced Shadow Insurance, and slapped it on. The pink/green duochrome effect was non-existent. To add insult to injury, I paired it with Motif and Sumptuous Olive and the result was a big hot mess.

ANYWAY, I decided to try again today and I like this a lot more as the duochrome effect actually comes through. Hope you enjoy!

Mac Love Week: FOTD #3 (Lady Danger)

I apologize for the really, really, really crap photos of this. I left my memory card at home and had dinner plans for the evening so I grabbed the card and snapped a few photos in the car. Most of my makeup had melted away! The focus is the lipstick anyway. It's absolutely gorgeous and especially comfortable to wear for a matte.

2 England Videos for Your Viewing Pleasure

I can't photograph #3 of the Mac love series because I left my memory card at home! Luckily the eye look is quite simple (hint: it's all about the lipstick) so it will look fine to photograph when I get home. So anyway, I've got the photo taken of the items for the giveaway, I just have to post it. It'll more than likely be up tonight at the same time as today's FOTD :)

For now, I've got 2 videos... the first being a 'vlog' of the first few days of our trip. I was hoping to actually sit down with the camera and talk more about our days there, but it turned more into sporadic clips of things going on. It's pretty long, so I won't hate you if you don't sit through all of it... BUT, there's helium talking at the end.

Mac Love Week: FOTD #2 (Surf Baby Part Deux)

I'm back today with another (mostly) Mac look! Today I used My Paradise cheek powder and Hibiscus lipstick with some of the warmer shades of eyeshadows that I have from them. My Paradise is absolutely lovely and I think even without the overspray, it will still be. Hibiscus is a cremesheen so it applies a little patchy but the color is just gorgeous.

Mac Love Week: FOTD #1 (Surf Baby)

Woot for another series on the blog! I haven't given my Mac stuff any love in quite some time, so I figured a week of looks with my collection was in order.

While I was in England, Surf Baby released in the US so my mom went by the counter and picked up what I wanted. I was hesitant about Surf USA and Sun Blonde when I saw them in person but now that I've used them in a look, I really like both of them! They don't swatch very well but are quite pigmented when they apply. I also nabbed My Paradise cheek powder and Hibiscus lipstick but I'm using those in a separate look (probably tomorrow) as the tone of them didn't quite go with this.
