I've done a few rave reviews and FOTDs with this product so I'm sure you know that I totally love these. However, I thought it would be helpful to do an overview with swatches of all of the colors I have, and comparisons to other colors for reference.
I have 9 shades in total. These retail for anywhere from $5.49 (this was at Bed, Bath and Beyond) to around $8... the common price is about $6.99 depending on what drug store you go to. My recommendation would be to nab these from Target and Wal-Mart, even though some locations don't carry all of the shades. Keep an eye out online and in your local paper for coupons -- these are P&G brand so nearly every week there is a coupon for $1 or $2 off.
The line has an excellent range of colors and finishes, ranging from pale pinks, to nudes, to dark purples and burgundies... and frosty, creamy and amplified-like finishes. They glide on smooth and easy and have a nice texture. I wouldn't call them moisturizing like a balm, but they certainly don't dry out my lips either. They claim to improve your lips over a seven day period. I can't attest to that for certain but I do wear these three to four times per week and I do notice that my lips don't peel and flake as badly as they used to. Bottom line is that they're not like a typical intensely pigmented lipstick -- they don't make you want to run and cuddle with your lip balm!
Hand swatches first!
Left to right: Kiss, Sweetheart, Darling and Siren
Left to right: Divine, Fairytale, Eternal, Flame and Embrace
Kiss: As pretty as this shade is, it's unfortunately the frostiest color of the group (and probably of the entire line). It's a pale orange shade with a slight pink shift. Quite pretty but it gives you total 90s frost lips. I do wear this though, but I apply it from the tube onto my pointer finger, and then rub the shade onto my lips with my finger. It helps to reduce some of the frost and instead you get a slight orange tint with some glossiness. This is great with bronze/copper looks.
Sweetheart: This is another unfortunately overly shimmery shade -- though this isn't as bad as Kiss. I got both of these when the line launched a preview of only a few shades, and I couldn't tell online how shimmery these were. This color is also pretty, it's got a slight plummy cranberry/blue shift. I wear this the same way as I wear Kiss.
Darling: Ah, yes, the creamy nude pink... essential in any makeup collection. I got this wanting something a bit more natural from the line and I absolutely love it. It is cool toned though so warm toned ladies may want to go for Heavenly if you want a similar effect.
Siren: Is this my favorite of the collection? I'm not sure -- I do wear it a lot. I've shown this before. This is a metallic medium pink, think a satin finish with some shimmer. There's also a bit of gold flash to some of the shimmer, it's gorgeous! I wore this during my housewarming and had two girls ask me what it was. This one lasts a crazy long time but does have a bit of a staining effect.
Divine: I got this because my friend Amanda texted me a picture and I loved it! It also looked like Mac Up The Amp and I was after a budget alternative for my blog readers. More on whether it's a dupe later, but this color is just... well... divine. It's a creamy purple pink. It looks more pink in the sun and the purple tone comes out more in indoor light.
Fairytale: And we have the obligatory creamy coral shade. This has a similar texture to Divine and Darling -- no shimmer but quite glossy and very creamy. This is quite neutral toned so I think cool and warm could pull it off. My best friend got married wearing this!
Eternal: Funny story about this -- when I swatched it in WalMart, I thought it was a dark pinky red. I got it home and realized it was magenta! Oh well, it's still a really nice color. Again, same consistency as Fairytale but possibly a bit of shimmer lurking in it. A note about this one -- it stains. Quite badly, actually. It took 2 makeup wipes and a lot of scrubbing to remove it after I swatched it on my lips. It sticks around for a long time, but whatever they used to dye the color gets uncomfortable after 7-8 hours (the stain is obviously there but it's no longer the lipstick). The lipstick isn't drying but the dye they used is... does that make sense?
Flame: I got this hoping it would be a dupe for Lady Danger. I don't have it yet so I can't say for sure but they sorta look close! This is a bright orangey red, and again, very creamy. It reminds me of a really ripe tomato... lovely color.
Embrace: This looks insane in the tube (very dark purple) but on the lips it sheers out. I'm only disappointed because I have Mac Violetta (and this wasn't out yet!) but it's still a pretty color. It's a fuchsia with blue shift, a relatively common lipstick shade. Oddly, this doesn't stain... strange.
Last but not least, two comparison photos:
Left to right: Mac Up the Amp, Cover Girl Divine, Sleek Mystic
Up the Amp and Divine are pretty close. In real life, Up the Amp has a bit more purple in it so it's a little darker swatched and on the lips, but for someone needing a budget alternative... it definitely works. Mystic isn't really close at all, it's got the same idea but is much brighter and has a lot more pink.
Left to right: Mac Violetta, Cover Girl Embrace, Sleek Amethyst
I'd say these are all pretty much identical... they all have nearly the same base color and a violet blue shift. Embrace has a little bit more red in the base but on the lips that is going to be virtually indistinguishable.
So, what do you think? Have you tried out these lipsticks? If so, what are your favorite shades? Let me know!

'Ah Littehl Bit'a' English makeupz (and a sexy FOTD!)
A couple weeks ago, I went to a party some friends of mine set up every year called The Liquor and Lingerie Party. It was for a friend's birthday. I've never really been able to attend -- either because I had other plans or I wasn't comfortable showing up in my underwear. However, this year my husband and I decided to go. Of course I had to get all sexified...
*Warning: There's (covered) boobs ahead. If you don't like boobs, you may want to scroll past ;-)*
I don't remember what I used, to be completely honest, as it was a while ago. I want to say I used the light green from my Inglot palette and some silvers, also e.l.f. black liquid liner. The falsies are Ardell #139, which are a new style. If you like them, be forewarned that they are pretty uncomfortable. I had to trim the inner corners as usual and didn't do it quite right, but they are really heavy and the band is a bit thick and uncomfortable. I probably contoured my cheeks with Mac Prism... lips were NYX Cabernet lip pencil with WetnWild Mega Last 910D (Red Velvet), and probably topped with Estee Lauder Cherry Kiss gloss.
Someone asked about my hair at the party... wanna know what it was? Unwashed mess for 3 days, plus scrunch gel and styling product... really messy. I wanted to make it sex hair I guess, haha.
For good measure, one of my husband and I doing the romance novel cover pose:
He's wearing some random white shirt and pajama pants lol. We shaved his chest for it lol!
So that's my random FOTD for you. I have more though! Robyn (Stay Beautiful) sent me a surprise package of UK makeup! I know I'm going over in a few days but I'm still totally excited. She sent me awesome things! (Of course I'm going to show you)
Crappy picture is crappy.
Left to right:
- MUA Lipstick, Shade 2: This is a gorgeous plummy rose shade. I usually overlook colors like this until I wear them and go "wow, rose goes with my complexion"... and this is only £1, bargain!
- MUA Lipstick, Shade 9: Oooh, how unusual is this? It's like a coppery brown with pink flecks. Very pretty. I've never seen a color like this.
- Sleek True Color Lipstick in Amethyst: This looks like a dupe of Violetta to me (I think she posted on her blog that it was)... the formula feels DIVINE, very creamy and smooth. (These are around £4)
- Sleek True Color Lipstick in Mystic: How well does Robyn know me? This color screams Wendy. I believe this is a new shade, as well!
Left to right (top first):
- Collection 2000 Extreme 24 Hour Liner in Blue: Oooh, a navy blue liquid liner! For some reason, this color is so hard to find here. Will test this soon.
- Collection 2000 Glam Crystals in Hustle: You can never have enough glitter liners, especially this one. I have this already but my tube is running low so a backup was much appreciated ;-) This is a gray-lilac base with tons of multicolored other glitter... green, gold, black... you name it. (£2.99?)
- MUA Intense Colour Eyeliner in Lovely Lilac: What's this? A lilac eyeliner for £1? How perfect. The shimmer in this is lovely -- I'm thinking of using this as an eyeshadow base as well.
- MUA Intense Colour Eyeliner in Bright Orange: Again, who does cheap orange eyeliners? Moreso, who does orange eyeliner at all? This is a great, traffic cone orange. I'm gonna have to play with this a bit to see how I want to use it!
- BeautyUK Metallic Sparks Pencil in Purple: This is a blackened plum shade versus purple but I won't fault a company for naming errors, haha! These are sort of like NYX jumbo pencils, they're about the same consistency. Bit creamy so I'm thinking I'll need a base under but still, love the colors! £2.49 for these - I'm nabbing the bronze and grey when I go over there!
- BeautyUK Metallic Sparks Pencil in Green: This is a GORGEOUS khaki-ish green shade. I've wanted a color like this for ages!
- BeautyUK Nail Polish in Smokey Lilac: This is an interesting shade for me. I tend to go for really glittery type stuff but I'm thinking this on my toes would be perfect! I don't like intense shades on my toesies :D (£1.99)
- Barry M Nail Paint in Dusky Mauve: ohmigosh. I wanted this when it released but people were saying they couldn't find it -- this is like Chanel Paradoxal... a dusky mauve with purple shimmer. Can't wait to wear this! (£2.99)
Anyway, that's what I have for you right now! I'm really going to try and work on some scheduled posts this evening for you... either way, I've got 6 lovely ladies guest posting for me while I'm on vacation.
Just in case I don't post anymore before I leave, have a good rest of May ;-)

FOTD Request: Orange and Purple
The lovely Jasmine (owner of High Voltage Cosmetics) asked me to do a combo of orange and purple on Twitter one night... I had a few extra minutes one morning and decided to give it a go. I liked it, it was REALLY refreshing to do something bright-ish and interesting as I had been so boring for weeks. I think I should have used a warmer toned purple lipstick, but I feel like it would have been more berry instead of purple then. Oh well, I liked it and got a lot of compliments at work (and at the Chanel counter, which was surprising)
Speaking of which, I went by and tried the Vitalumiere Aqua. WHY?! It's fantastic, I'll admit it. My skin looks so nice and it actually matches very well, which is rare for me. I just don't think it's worth $56. I came home with two samples so I'll post a review soon.
As a note about the pictures, I did flash and non flash because flash was muddling the colors HORRIBLY. My camera hates oranges for some reason. The flash are the top photos and you'll tell when it switches to non flash... looks much better lol! (and more color accurate)

Makeup Flashback: In Photos
This tag has been going around the interwebs and after talking with Robyn, Jessica and Priscilla on Twitter, I decided to do it.
Now, to preface this... there's not a whole lot of variety before age 21 in these. I went from wearing absolutely no makeup to smudgy black eyeliner. All. The. Time. That went on for YEARS... raccoon eyes. So this is mostly a quick timeline with some interesting (maybe not) bits in between.
Age 13 - Bahahahaha, good god this is bad. I hadn't discovered anything at this point... that's also the lead singer of Lifehouse. Like... 10 years ago.
Age 16 - Still not much makeup. I had some lipgloss on that my friend Amanda put on me. My parents were out of town so she came over and had a photoshoot at my house with my friend Laura. Here's the thing about this photo: LOOK AT MY HAIR. How did it ever get that long?!
Age 18 - The beginning of the raccoon eyes. Laura put eyeliner on me at some point to meet a guy and I never turned back for a very long time. No one ever told me about eyeshadow primer so Panda Wendy was born. Also, my eyebrows are disgusting.
Age 19 - Getting a little better, at least it's not smudged so bad. I think I was wearing blue eyeshadow here. No lipgloss, no mascara, no brow fill in... ugh.
Age 19 - And then I regressed. This photo is straight embarrassing. I went as a 'dead geisha' for Halloween. But hey, I have false lashes on! They actually weren't too badly applied. But what's with the Padme lip? I dunno man.
Age 19 - I -think- this is the same year. I can't remember. I know I did 2 costumes one year but I don't remmeber what dead geisha paired with. Anyway. Snow White Costume. I went and bought a WetnWild 99cent sparkly red lip gloss since, well, it was Snow White. Still got the thick, black Egyptian liner going on. Again, WTFHAIR. I don't remember it being that long...
Age 20 - At 20 I graduated from college and got my first office job, which somehow meant it was time to cut my hair. I think I still regret that decision because it's never gotten as long again. I started using a little undereye concealer on my lid and under my eye, so my eyeliner was a little neater by then.
Age 22 - Went as Lady Gaga for Halloween. First time I ever properly applied false lashes (and wore a blonde wig). Also was my first smokey eye, as badly as it was done. OH! And hot pink lips for the first time... again, a 99 cent WetnWild thing.
Age 23 (Now) - Cut bangs into my hair and keep that blog going! This is where I am now :)
Pfew... that was a lot. I'll try to scoop up a baby picture or two and add those as well!
Hope you enjoyed, and if you've done this or decide to do it... link me to it! I find these really interesting.

Age 21 - Began playing with makeup. I think playing around came before watching YouTube videos because I remember using colored eyeliners a lot. I did the initial stages of filling my eyebrows in... no plucking yet but at least it was a step in the right direction. I also bought my first Mac items (White Frost and Sushi Flower eyeshadow), which was a big deal because I didn't understand the cost of them before.
Age 21/22 - Met my husband and dyed my hair bright red (in that order). Started plucking my eyebrows and as a side note... started dressing nicer. Still wasn't wearing much in the way of lip product, though.

Age 22 - Started the blog and getting inspiration from the runway and magazines. The top look is from Mac Love Lace and the bottom was something I came up with from my head.

April Favorites, Mac Chat and more (Video)
I decided to do an admittedly long video about my favorites for April, a small haul and general rambling. I know it's long, you don't have to watch the whole thing. Unfortunately I'm pants at video editing so I couldn't really cut it down. You get a gold star if you sit to the end!

More Swatches of the Physician's Formula Gel Liners
Picked these up through my $5 off coupon at CVS plus their 40% off sale... $1.60 each! Such a great deal as these liners are awesome.

I got the blue eyes original liner set and the brown eyes glam collection (these are more metallic and fancy!).
I discovered that they do indeed snap apart like legos...

This has made traveling a bit easier ;-). They're so tiny and perfect when they snap apart. Could easily fit into a pocket...
Anyway, onto the swatches:

The first is a beautiful indigo shade of blue... it's got a slight purple tone but it's relatively blue. This shade is really pigmented, and I loved it on my eyes. The middle shade is a rich chocolate brown, probably the most pigmented of the three. I haven't had a chance to use that one yet but think I will on moving day, to again test how long these last! The far right is a black liner with loose blue sparks. When I wore this, I felt like it had a slight navy tone. Could be my skintone, but it didn't look jet black. It's not as pigmented as the black I have from the green eyes set.

The gold is pretty but the least pigmented of the three, and further, the least pigmented of the ones I own. It's nice but I'm not sure how I'm going to use it (maybe on the lower lash line?). The middle color is a gorgeous bronzey brown... now THIS is nice. Can't wait to use it. The black is much more intense than the blue eyes set and has small bronze sparks. Gorgeoussss.
Overall, love these. The glam collection was quite metallic but the bronze is a welcome edition to my collection. I love these! Not sure if I'll get anymore though, unless they release new shades.
