FOTD: Winter is Apparently Hiding

Lady Winter seems to be feeling a bit shy this year as it's mid November and we are in near 80 degree temperatures! I'm not complaining but we keep switching between FREEZING cold (like yelling obscenities the second you go outside) to these lovely warm, humid days. I wish it would just make up its mind.

We had a particularly warm day yesterday so I felt like using some tropical, fun colors. I used my NYX shadows, which I haven't pulled out in forever.

Contest Winner + FOTD

I've tallied up the votes and used Random.Org to select a winner... and the winner is:

STEPH XOX

Congratulations!! I will email you by the end of the day for your contact info :)

Thanks to all who entered and, of course, stay tuned because I'm sure I'll get a wild hair and do another one at 250 or something!

Ulta was running a 40% off NYX sale online and in store, and since my store has a terrible selection, I decided to order online. I had a $3.50 off coupon as well, so not including shipping, I spent a mere $13. How cool is that?

I will take some swatch photos later and put them in another post, but I got:
- Iced Mocha eyeshadow
- Kiwi eyeshadow
- Lemon/Lime jumbo eye pencil
- Iced Mocha eye pencil
- Thalia lipstick
- Chestnut lipgloss

I used some of the products in the upcoming FOTD, everything is good so far except for the Lemon/Lime/whatever eye pencil. It goes on looking very green but after blending it a little to prevent creasing, it turns really sallow and yellow, and leaves behind nothing but sparkles. I'll work with it some more to see what I can do though. I'm thinking I should have gotten Horseradish instead, as I needed a good green base.

Thalia is gorgeous... I got it on a recommendation from Stavroula (check out her blog here) and am so glad I did! It's a gorgeous pinky mauve. NYX lipsticks really are excellent (*cough* except Medusa *cough*).

I'm not sure about Chestnut... it looks REALLY gold in the tube. I'm gonna try it tomorrow and see how it looks. I may end up looking like a 2 dolla' hooka', and I'll be sure to post pics so that you guys are right along with me.

Anyway... FOTD!!

FACE:
- Mac Studio Fix powder
- Mac Prim and Proper blush (why does my blush never show in photos??)
- Mac Select Moisturecover NW20
- Mac Studio Finish concealer, NW20

EYES:
- Too Faced Shadow Insurance
- NYX Jumbo Pencil in Lemon/Lime
- Urban Decay eyeshadow in Sin
- NYX eyeshadow in Kiwi
- Mac eyeshadow in Lucky Green
- NYX eyeshadow in Iced Mocha
- Mac eyeshadow in Cranberry
- Rimmel Maxx VolumeFlash mascara in black

LIPS:
- NYX lipstick in Thalia

I like how this came out but it didn't photograph well at all. The cranberry was more pronounced and the look overall wasn't as washed out. It's been raining here non stop so I've had to rely fully on flash, indoor photos... and since most of the colors were shimmery, it really faded the look when the flash went off. I am loving Kiwi! It's super pretty and I want to pair it with Lucky Green more often. Iced Mocha is also pretty but less taupe on my eyes than in swatches.

Last bit for now... if you follow me on Twitter, you already know because I've turned my Twitter to private. I couldn't say anything on here because some people who regularly read this didn't know... but Rob and I are married! We got married on September 7 (that was me being out of town, by the way) and now that we've announced it to everyone... I can share it with you guys :D. We got married on the beach, only my parents and my two best friends were present. It was amazing. I will post our vows in a later post if any of you are interested?

For now, here's some photos:

The weather was absolutely perfect sans A LOT of wind... so my hair was sort of insane. It was really, really cute but from certain angles it just looked weird! lol My bangs were also a mess. Oh well, I wanted more pics and to do a breakdown of my makeup for the day but I forgot to take more!

Married life is pretty perfect so far. We've had some issues with people not approving of the marriage, one of which is still standing, but hopefully we can work through that soon. We shall see.

That's all for today!
