Urban Decay Naked Palette Photo Tutorial

Yep! I'm doing my first photo tutorial. I'd love to do a video one but A) I don't have the setup, B) Don't have proper lighting, C) Don't have a memory card big enough to record in high quality and D) Don't have the video editing capability to put one up.

So I thought I'd do the next best thing and try out a photo tutorial... let me know what you guys think! Be brutal if you have to. This is my first time experimenting with this and I wasn't sure how to attack it. I'd love to hear your thoughts.

What You'll Need:
- Highlighter close to your skintone
- Shimmering champagne
- Caramel-like shade
- Red toned brown
- Soft black (not a harsh one)
-
Matte brown eyeliner
- Plum or black eyeliner
- Mascara of your choice
-
Glitter colour of your choice

For this look, I used Virgin, Sin, Sidecar, Hustle, Creep and Whiskey eyeliner from the Urban Decay Naked Palette set along with Bourjois Smokey Effet eyeliner in Dark Purple and Maybelline Define A Lash.

Feel free to use what you have!

Step 1:
Prep your eyelid for colour using an eye base of your choice. Apply the champagne shade all over the lids using a flat shading brush.

Step 2: Begin placing the caramel shade into the crease with a fluffy blending brush, bringing the colour about 2/3 of the way in towards the inner point of your eye.

Step 3: Keep building the caramel shade to your desired intensity.

Step 4: Using a stiffer blending brush, place the red-toned brown into the outer crease. Apply by adding the desired amount of colour first.

Step 5:
Blend all 3 colours together, adding more of the darker brown if necessary.

Step 6:
Blend the darker brown into the lower lash line with a pencil brush, and do the same with the champagne shade towards the inner tear duct. Place the matte brown eyeliner on the waterline.

Step 7
: With the same pencil brush, begin dabbing the black onto the outer edges of your lid/crease. Use a diagonal pattern to bring it inwards and also blend the black into where your eyelid folds.

Step 8:
Apply the plum or black eyeliner to the top lash line, only creating a slight cat eye shape. Apply mascara. Finish off with glitter eyeliner on your inner corners and eyelashes for a fun nighttime look (I used a dark gold).

Step 9: Clean up any fall out and complete the rest of your face! Keep your face subtle -- go for a peachy pink blush with shimmer and a natural or pink lip. I used Maybelline's SuperStay concealer in Cream, Sleek's Rose Gold blush and CoverGirl's Lip Perfection in Sweetheart. Here is the finished look! You're ready for a night out on the town or a Christmas party. :)
