FOTD/OOTD: Striving to Be Different

With my recent makeup rut, I had some time this morning to play with makeup and wanted to try a different eye shape than what I normally do. I hadn't used MUFE #92 in FOREVER, so I incorporated that as well. I really like how this turned out!

FACE:
- L'Oreal Magic Lumi Primer
- Avon Smooth Minerals Foundation in Nude
- Mac MSF Natural in Light
 - Maybelline SuperStay Concealer in Light
- Boots No 7 Vital Enlightening Powder (on eyes as highlight, too)
- Maybelline Dream Mousse Blush in Peach Satin
EYES:
-Too Faced Shadow Insurance
- Revlon Matte Eyeshadow in Peach Sorbet (lid)
- Mac eyeshadow in Expensive Pink (crease and lower lashline)
- MUFE Eyeshadow in #92 (to darken crease and lower lashline)
- Physician's Formula black gel liner from Blue Eyes set
- MUA eyeliner in Lovely Lilac (waterline)
- Rimmel Sexy Curves Mascara
LIPS:
- NYX Lipstick in Indian Pink
- NYX Mega Shine gloss in LaLa

It's supposed to be pretty sunny and nice here today so I wanted to wear a dress... figuring out a cardigan to wear with it was tough, I'm not 100% sold on this combo.

FOTD: Sleek Sunset

Even though it's snowing here today, I've been playing with the Sleek Sunset palette all week. Admittedly, most of my looks have been a variation of this FOTD but I've been tweaking it all week trying to get it just right. Think I nailed it today!

Originally I was going to do a review on this palette and a FOTD below, as I often do. Somehow, I lost the swatches... I think they may be on my old memory card, which I've misplaced :( The palette has been well loved now and I feel weird photographing it with dips and swipes across the shadows, lol! BUT, if you'd like to see a review, let me know!

I took a million pictures to try and capture the gradient of the gold to the orange to the red, so sorry for that! On my cheeks was e.l.f. Candid Coral blush (new favorite!). For lips I used NYX Indian Pink, which is perfect for this, with Boots High Shine gloss in Whisper over top.

Excuse the sorry state of my eyebrows at the moment, I've really got to sit down and take care of them! It seems like I pluck them and they don't grow for a week, but then all of a sudden I have insanely long hairs, lol!

Hope you enjoyed, I really love this version of the look as I felt the earlier ones weren't quite what I wanted.

Blue Eyeshadow: 2 Ways + Outfits + Wedding Stuff...

I know, I know. I haven't been around. I honestly haven't had much to post as I've been super lazy this week and not really rocking any makeup. I'm making up for it now as I have a ton of stuff to post.

First up, I did two blue eyeshadow looks this weekend. The first is a stronger cut crease look, mostly inspired by Jonna from Nukleopatra (clicky! That's her blog). I love her makeup style so when I looked at the dress I was going to wear, I knew what I wanted to do.

I wore this out to Rob's birthday dinner (outfit to be shown after the FOTD). We were in a bit of a hurry as we had reservations, and so I didn't get many good shots of this. It was hard to photograph anyway. I think I should have used more of a matte navy blue in the crease.

Blehhh. The pics are terrible :(

FACE:
- CoverGirl Tinted Moisturizer - fair to light
- Mac Prism (contour)
- Mac Stereo Rose
- Mac Select Moisturecover NW20
- Mac Studio Finish concealer, NW20

EYES:
- Too Faced Shadow Insurance
- Urban Decay Virgin eyeshadow
- Urban Decay Naked eyeshadow
- Urban Decay Buck eyeshadow
- Darker matte skin tone from Sleek Bohemian palette
- NYX Iced Mocha eyeshadow
- Matte navy blue from Bohemian
- Sparkly dark blue from Sleek Circus
- Maybelline The Falsies mascara
- Matte black from Sleek Circus (as liner)

LIPS:
- Viva Glam Gaga lipstick
- NYX Chestnut lipgloss

I did like my outfit though! You may recall the pic I posted of this dress a while ago... I wore that, with a cardigan you may recognize, and black flats. I'm skipping on showing the flats as they are literally just black, lol. I would normally wear heels out but I knew we'd be traipsing around downtown after dinner.

The cardi is from Wet Seal, the dress is Forever 21 and the necklace I got from The Icing (even though it's crooked in the photos lmao!). I found it last minute as I had nothing to go with the dress... and I love it! It's doubled up and normally lays long (to my ribs)

Next up is a look from today. I did another blue look as I was wearing a new top and a denim skirt... I thought it would look good. I was going out with my parents for Rob's birthday, but it was still daylight so I added some glitter to help convert it to a night time look as well.

FACE:
- Mac Studio Fix powder
- Mac Prism blush (contour)
- Hard Candy Living Doll blush
- Mac Select Moisturecover NW20
- Mac Studio Finish concealer, NW20

EYES:
- Too Faced Shadow Insurance
- Urban Decay Aquarius eyeshadow
- Mac Steamy eyeshadow
- Barry M Aqua Gold dazzledust
- Metallic blue mixed with metallic purple from Sleek Circus (crease)
- Ulta Olive eyeliner
- Urban Decay Distortion glitter liner
- Maybelline The Falsies mascara

LIPS:
- NYX Indian Pink lipstick
- Milani gloss in Movie Star (the blue sparkly one)

I am definitely having coverage issues with both Aquarius and Steamy. These photos were taken after dinner but only 2 hours after application and I already have some creasing :(

Oh and the new top I got from Charlotte Russe... I love the neckline!

That's pretty much it for the FOTDs. I do have two quick outfit photos, apparently the theme of this week was belts:

I'm wearing pants... they're cute in person, I promise. The top on this is really cute, wish I could have gotten better pictures... it's got little zippers down the sleeves!

I cut out my face because I was doing a ridiculous grin in an attempt to be cool. It wasn't :D. I wore this to work with dress pants instead and changed to run a few errands when I got home.

To change the subject again, more wedding stuff! The rings:

My engagement ring is the one towards the tip of my finger. It was so hard to find a band to go with it but we finally did! I love it.

And for those of you who wanted to see our vows... I'm posting pics, you'll have to blow them up to read them:

The only part cut off is the "Now celebrate your life with a kiss" bit. It was on a 4th page and I was literally about to murder my scanner... so I decided it best to just type it in, lol! We admittedly did not write every word of our vows... our celebrant was fantastic and interviewed us, and gave us a basic skeleton that she felt was appropriate (the whole "in this great sea of life" thing is all her). We however did write the declaration of intent ("do you willingly embrace...") and the actual vows ("... this is my solemn vow") and we of course chose the song lyrics.

We are proud of them... hey, they made my parents and two best friends cry :D

Finally, and last but not least, I hit 200 followers! Yaaaaay! Thank you so much to all who have followed me, and welcome to my newer followers :)
